Org Current TEAM 28 1 DET - Man, was I way off, there are currently 3 teams in the top 10 that I was shockingly off by, but Detroit takes the cake with a 27 position shift. Where was I wrong? My first take, the lack of pitching and a mediocre lineup wasn't going to be enough to compete. What is happening? The offense is quite a bit stronger led by Semien, Kwan and an unreal William Contreras with a solid supporting cast and young potential studs like Chourio yet to get to the level they can reach, the pitching is doing their part as well, getting respectable starts out of Littel, Crawford and Hicks. Has my original prediction changed? Does a bear shit in the woods? 9 2 LAA – close enough 8 3 ARZ - close enough 6 4 TOR - close enough 29 5 TEX – If not for Detroit, Texas would be my largest miss, Where was I wrong? My first take was this was a no name roster with little star-power and they would be steam rolled by much more talented teams. I underestimated the depth across the whole roster which is paying dividends right now. What is happening? They are rolling 6 solid Starters with a no name lineup backed by depth. Has my original prediction changed? Yes, I think with the depth and the potential for improvement on the offensive side of the ball, Texas remains a competitor all year. 15 6 NYM – Where was I wrong? Was not sold on Elly as a 3+ plus player. What is happening? He is and more. Has my original prediction changed? Jury is out, injuries are really hitting where it hurts for the Mets, as Cody Bradfords solid start to the year is on the IL along with Luis Roberts. 2 7 STL – close enough 7 8 BRK - close enough 27 9 HOU – Where was I wrong? Did not love the roster outside of their big 3 in Will Smith, Mookie and Ketel with limited pitching options. What is happening? The big 3 are performing as advertised and supporting bats like Taylor Ward and Tauchman make this offense scary at times. They are getting solid performances out of Joe Ryan and Cortes to carry the pitching staff. Has my original prediction changed? Yes, much better team than I thought and about to get a boost from a Walker Buehler much anticipated return. 11 10 CLE- close enough 5 11 MIA- close enough 3 12 CIN Where was I wrong? Was wowed by their stable of starters to begin the year, especially after acquiring Spencer Strider. What is happening? Cincy, dodged a major bullet by moving on from Strider and getting a solid starter and a good young position player back just before Strider needed TJ. They are rolling 5 front line starters backed by a better than anticipated offense, Has my original prediction changed? No, they should finish in the top 10. 14 13 PHI – close enough 17 14 OAK – close enough 4 15 CHC – pass, inconclusive. 20 16 TBR – close enough 1 17 SFG I loved this team, liked the solid balance between pitching and hitting, Where was I wrong? Julio Rodriguez, Xander Bogarets and Josh Bell have a combined .585 OPS and Eduardo Rodriguez hasn’t throw a pitch. . What is happening? Just what I said, but Julio, Julio Julio. Has my original prediction changed? Jury is out, but I would lean they can get back into the top 10 with some much needed reversion to the mean. 18 18 KCR – bingo! 12 19 MIL – close enough 10 20 MIN - Where was I wrong? Some of the kids I liked would continue to take a step forward Ie. Trilio. What is happening? No offense is stepping up, hello Tatis? Great 3 ace starters are rolling. Has my original prediction changed? No, they finish top half. 13 21 PIT - stay where you are 21 22 BOS – close enough 16 23 ATL -close enough 26 24 NYY – close enough 23 25 MTL – close enough 25 26 CSX – close enough 30 27 COL – close enough 24 28 SEA – close enough 19 29 BAL - yeah u suck 22 30 SDP – close enough, injuries made this worse.
